I’ve got some time scheduled off for the second week of July, and during that time I’d like to go camping. I desperately need it to rain, and rain hard, between now and then. There are campfire restrictions all over and with out the monsoon rains, they wont be lifted.
Since I would be up in the mountains rather than down in the desert, I’d want/need a campfire. Really – I can’t see any reason to go camping if I can’t have one! So, if the Monsoon clouds are listening… please rain on us soon!
You don’t need fire to have a great time camping. Get a Jetboil and some dehydrated backpacking meals. I hiked for weeks in the northwestern back country and was never allowed fire. It was AWESOME.
Sure, I can get by with out one – but being a recreational trip with a purpose of sitting and relaxing with the lady by the fire, can’t be achieved with out the fire!
